Here are some poems on weather that the children had composed (while we were on the topic of Sounds around us)

Wind

Woosh! Woosh! Woosh! Woosh!
It’s me, I’m the wind.
I blow the trees leaves off at autum. Children fly their kites in the sky and I lift them up.
Woosh! Woosh! Woosh! Woosh!

HAILSTONES

Ping pong clong cling!!!
It’s us! Hailstones. We rain from the sky! We are made of ice and we are as hard as stones. The hailstones make me think the rain that falls from the sky.
When I hear the hailstones falling from the sky I feel like there are many people building their houses. I think that the sound seems to be saying that there are ping pong ball falling from the sky.

Rain

Pitter-patter splash! Pitter-patter splash!
It’s me, I’m heavy rain
When I hit the window, I make beautiful patterns.
When the sun and I work together, we form a rainbow.

Rain

Pitter patter! Pitter patter!!
It’s me I’m rain. The sound makes me think of lovely music.
I feel like sleeping when I hear the sound of rain. The sound seems to be saying that we should sleep early every night. Pitter Patter!

It’s me I am the thunderous rain!
I make a loud sound when I fall!
I produce water for the reservoirs.
I will evaporate and turn into clouds.
If it snows, I turn into ice.
The sound makes me think of beating, small drops on a window pane.
When the weather temperature is too low I will turn into ice.

It’s me! I am a big, bad thunder storm.
