Project Work - Change

During weeks 8 - 10 of Term 3, the P2 level went through a journey through time to explore the changes in Toys through the years.

The children learnt about Traditional toys such as Chapteh, Five Stones, Hopscotch, Tops and Marbles. Some toys have even made their comeback! The current Yo-yo craze is one example. Some traditional toys such as kites and skipping ropes have never lost its charms as well and are still popular games among the children.

They went on a Learning Journey to the Mint Museum of Toys where they see for themselves the toys that were played by their parents and possibly grandparents too. (Click on link to see the photographs)
In their groups, they also created their own ideal futuristic robot. I must say we have future inventors and artists in our class! Their creations were all very innovative and inspiring =)

Ketchup's Robot

Blueberry's Robot

BBQ's Robot

Yoyo Spider's Robot

Lemonade's Robot

The children also watched the movie, 'Toy Story' and after which, they got into their groups to discuss the differences between the main characters. This involves skills such as comparing, organising, brainstorming and collaboration.

To round up the entire concept of Change in Toys, we had a few rounds of the drama convention, Hotseating in class where pupils take on the roles of Woody and Buzz (main characters in Toy Story) and the children on the floor could ask them questions about their character. That was good fun for them!

All members worked well throughout their Project Work journey but the most deserving of them all would have to be Blueberry. They were given a small token each. =)

I hope everyone enjoyed this journey!
